Somme International Airshow 2025: Aerial Magic in Hauts-de-France
The Somme International Airshow 2025, held on August 23–24, 2025 at Amiens Henry Potez International Airport is one of the most spectacular European aviation events of the year that pushes the boundaries of speed, precision, and artistry.
A Solemn Tribute
The event is remembered for hosting one of the final performances by Major Maciej "SLAB" Krakowian, the leader of the Polish F-16 Tiger Demo Team. Tragically, Major Krakowian lost his life just days after the Somme airshow during a rehearsal at the Radom Air Show on August 28, 2025.

Headlining Displays
From raw power to elegance of the world’s elite pilots and display teams:
- Polish F-16 Tiger Demo: Led by the legendary Maj. Maciej "SLAB" Krakowian, the aggressive and award-winning "Tiger" display at RIAT 2025.
- Royal Jordanian Falcons: Precision formation flying at its finest. Bonus: an exclusive photo shoot with the Royal Jordanian Falcons on the ground!
- Patrouille de France: The iconic ambassadors of the French Air and Space Force brought their famous blue, white, and red smoke trails to the Somme skies.
- Rafale Solo Display: the thunder and maneuverability from the French fighter is unmatched.
- A400M Tactical Display Team by the French Air Force: flying within its envelope, powerful and agile.
- Czech Air Force Saab JAS-39C Gripen Solo Display with special livery
- Equipe de Voltige (EVAAE): World-class aerobatics featuring breathtaking precision and gravity-defying performances
- Frech Navy E-2C Hawkeye: the twin engine Airborne Early Warning aircraft with the big soucer
- Team Raven and the Global Stars, the British presence of ballet in the sky.
- Turbo Firecat water drop was a powerful demonstration of aerial firefighting precision.
Sunset Airshow: Drone Choreography History in Motion
As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a canvas of light featuring the magical Aerosparx team with only one Grob motor glider with their signature of unique pyrotechnics. A swarm of hundreds of synchronized drones rose silently from the airfield. Using precision GPS coordination, they formed glowing 3D sculptures in the night sky:
- The Pioneer Era: The drones shifted into the silhouette of Blériot, bi-plane, early jet to Mirage.
- The Industrial Boom: The lights transitioned into the shape of a rotating propeller and the iconic Potez aircraft, a tribute to the Méaulte factory’s 100-year legacy.
- The Modern Force: In a breathtaking finale, the drones formed a massive, glowing Concorde, Airbus Beluga super-transporter, Rafale fighter, shimmering in blue, white and red LEDs to honor the weekend's star performers.
What makes Somme International Air show unique?
First of all, Amiens Henry Potez International Airport is closely related to Airbus industry which is next to the airfield. Organisers Blue Ciel transformed this airshow over 4 years into an aviation event for the future. Airshow 2.0 if you like. We have seen this happening at Antidotum Leszno Poland. An airshow is more than jets only. It gives a total presentation of aviation, a sunset airshow with lots of pyrotechnics, drones with LED's making fantastic art in the sky and a great finale with fireworks. And Pascal Cordier - Blue Ciel organisation succeeded in that!
Looking forward to the next edition of Somme International Airshow August 28-29, 2026
